Rediscovering My Creative Spark: Lessons on Personal Branding and Purpose from Industry Leaders

Thank you, Creative People and Marketing Happy Hour, for setting up this epic networking event! I loved the raw and unfiltered panel discussion. It was inspiring to hear about smashing through social anxiety, mentors, crafting killer content, and stepping out of our comfort zones.

The event discussed personal branding, which I’ve always found challenging. Blending these aspects into a cohesive personal brand can be tricky as a creative with solid data and technical orientation. I appreciate creative work with purpose, aiming to make an impact.

I love a good design system and a grid, which can make me feel old-fashioned in the age of curated content.

This talk made me realize I need to work on being true to myself in the things I enjoy. I've lost my brand and myself over the years of working in a corporate environment. Also, I learned that presentations don't need to be 20 pages long—keep them under 5! Not everyone gets excited about data and design the same way I do. Thanks for that lesson, Puja Shah.

I had some great mentors, but I didn’t realize it at the time. I look back now and wish I had listened better. I've had some great opportunities, and I definitely self-sabotaged.
